Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer located in Latin America and specializing in Backend development with experience in Generative AI (GenAI) for Data Analytics. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building APIs, services, integrations, and chatbots and AI-related assistants for data analytics (BI), primarily using Python with any AI framework (e.g., Semantic Kernel, LangChain, LiteLLM), and preferrable Microsoft technologies (Fabric, Power Bi, or related). This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems that support our AI-driven projects.

Responsibilities:   

• Build AI agents that query semantic models using natural language and generate DAX dynamically.
• Develop RAG systems that leverage semantic model metadata and business definitions for context.
• Create conversational interfaces allowing users to explore financial data through natural language questions.
• Implement AI-powered anomaly detection on financial metrics and vendor payment patterns.
• Design backend APIs that expose both semantic model data and AI agent capabilities.
• Build multi-agent systems for complex analytical workflows (forecasting, variance analysis, what-if scenarios).
• Connect AI agents with Power BI REST APIs for automated report and dashboard generation.
• Optimize model performance using aggregations, incremental refresh, and Direct Lake storage.
• Implement row-level security and governance across semantic models.
• Build integrations connecting different data sources (Databases, QuickBooks, Excel) to unified semantic models.
• Create feedback loops where AI insights improve semantic model design and data quality.
• Develop real-time streaming analytics combining Microsoft Fabric Real-Time Analytics with AI inference.
• Stay updated with the latest GenAI advancements.

Qualifications

Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend development.
• 2+ years building AI applications with LLMs (GPT-4, Claude, Gemini).
• Extensive experience with Python.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with natural language to SQL translation.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Proven experience building and deploying RAG implementations with vector databases.
• Experience with any AI Agentic framework (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, Pydantic AI).
• Familiarity with MCP, A2A, or similar integration protocols.
• Understanding of security best practices for AI Applications.
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar.
• Familiarity with Direct Lake mode and Delta Lake format optimization.
• Microsoft certifications (DP-600, PL-300, AI-102).
• Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M (Power Query).
• Experience with Tabular Model Scripting Language (TMSL) and XMLA endpoints.
• Experience building serverless-architected solutions, including monitoring, debugging, and deployment.
• Experience with large-scale semantic models (10GB+ or 100M+ rows)
