Job Description: 

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Engineer specialized on SugarCRM based in Latam. This role will act as the technical SME for all things SugarCRM: extending the core platform, building new features, and driving complex legacy-to-cloud upgrades. You will design, code, and deploy Sugar modules and integrations while leading data and version migrations to SugarCloud as needed.

Responsibilities:   

• Feature Engineering: Design & implement custom modules, dashlets, views, REST-based services, and UI extensions that follow SugarCRM’s upgrade-safe architecture.
• Upgrade & Cloud Migration: Own the technical plan to move instances from on-prem versions 9+ to Sugar Sell 14 (SugarCloud), including code refactoring, extension remediation, and extensive regression testing. 
• Data Migration: Define ETL strategy, cleanse and transform large data sets, and validate fidelity post-cut-over. 
• Support Escalations: Interface with Sugar Support, open/track tickets, apply hot-fixes, and document resolutions. 
• SugarCRM Technical Leadership: Serve as the on-call SugarCRM subject-matter expert, advising stakeholders on best-practice CRM roadmaps.

Qualifications

Technical skills: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 + years professional SugarCRM development (2+ years on recent versions. e.g., 13+).
• Deep knowledge of Module Loader, Logic Hooks, Beans, Sugar Studio / Metadata framework, REST/API, Upgrade-Safe patterns.
• Prior experience moving on-prem SugarCRM to SugarCloud managed hosting, including data and custom code. 
• Strong knowledge of PHP 8.x, HTML/CSS/JS/Bootstrap, MySQL.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of secure software development best practices in SugarCRM.

Soft skills:

• Excellent analytical, communication, and English documentation skills.
  
• Able to work through ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamically changing business environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent collaboration skills with a desire to learn and teach.
• Excellent understanding of development processes and agile methodologies.
• Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and able to learn quickly.
• A willingness to get your hands dirty - you enjoy a scrappy, entrepreneurial environment where everyone pitches in to get the job done.

Bonus skills: 

• SugarCRM Certified Developer Specialist and/or Certified Solutions Architect. 
• Experience with Linux, Docker, Git, and CI/CD.
