Job Description:
As Upstart13 evolves into a culture-driven, AI-powered organization, our Culture Ambassadors are the heartbeat of our people experience. Working closely with the Culture & People Ambassadors Lead (CAPA Lead), you will help activate a thriving, connected, values-aligned environment where every Upstarter feels supported, recognized, and empowered to grow.
This is a hands-on, mid-level role ideal for someone who loves operational excellence, human connection, community building, and the craft of shaping culture day-to-day.You will serve as a bridge between strategy and execution—turning ideas into programs, insights into actions, and culture into an everyday lived experience across our remote team.
Responsibilities:
1. Culture Activation & Engagement
- Support the rollout and reinforcement of F.L.A.R.E. values across the organization.
- Help plan and execute culture-building initiatives such as Coffee Talks, U13 Olympics, virtual hangouts, and hybrid pop-ups.
- Serve as a “culture champion,” ensuring teams feel connected, heard, and aligned through consistent check-ins.
- Partner with the CAPA Lead to design and deliver lightweight workshops, rituals, and engagement experiences.
2. Recognition & Communication
- Manage the day-to-day operation of our recognition and rewards program.
- Track and highlight F.L.A.R.E.-aligned behaviours across teams.
- Support internal communications—announcements, newsletters, content drafting, updates, and cultural storytelling.
- Collaborate with the Internal Comms & Design Specialist to bring culture initiatives to life.
3. Programs & Processes Support
- Assist with onboarding cultural touchpoints—welcome experiences, buddy programs, learning orientations.
- Maintain people-related documentation in Confluence and ensure information is updated, clear, and accessible.
- Help execute well-being initiatives, feedback cycles, surveys, and pulse conversations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of people processes, ensuring they reflect clarity, belonging, and high performance.
4. Insights & Listening
- Conduct ongoing culture listening through surveys, informal conversations, and follow-ups.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and report meaningful insights to the CAPA Lead.
- Help track engagement, recognition activity, and participation metrics.
Technical skills:
- 2–4 years in People, HR Operations, Culture, Internal Communications, or
Community-building roles, ideally in remote-first or fast-growing teams. - Strong organizational and coordination skills with a bias for execution.
- Empathetic communicator and skilled listener.
- Creative mindset with an eye for community activation and engagement.
- Comfortable with digital tools (bonus for BambooHR, Confluence, Canva).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with clarity and calm.
- Data-curious—able to interpret basic metrics and translate insights into recommendations.
Soft skills:
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple small tasks simultaneously.
- Curious, creative, empathetic, and attentive to detail.
- Comfortable working in remote environments and collaborating digitally.
