Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join Upstart AEC in a full-time, fully remote role. This position plays a key role in connecting real-world preconstruction workflows with modern, AI-driven estimation technology. You’ll act as a subject matter expert, helping shape how commercial contractors adopt and scale preconstruction software.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply deep expertise in preconstruction processes, including takeoff, estimation, bid management, and qualification/risk management

• Act as a subject matter expert, providing insights to internal product development teams

• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in preconstruction

• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify gaps and opportunities

• Support sales efforts by participating in demos, onboarding, and customer training

• Travel on-site to large customers for in-person training when required

• Engage directly with customers to understand workflows, pain points, and adoption challenges

• Deliver training sessions, demos, and presentations showcasing the platform’s value

• Contribute to thought leadership content such as blog posts, whitepapers, and presentations

• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and webinars

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in preconstruction roles, including takeoff and estimation

• Hands-on experience with drywall estimation

• Strong knowledge of preconstruction software and tools

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to clearly explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product, sales, and customer teams

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with tools such as OSD, QuickBid, PlanSwift, or Divisio IX

• Experience in product management or strong exposure to product development workflows
